I've struggled with acne my entire life and unfortunately, even into my early twenties, I haven't been able to find the recipe for glowing skin. Finding the right treatments for your skincare routine can be a struggle and there is no one-size-fits-all solution, trust me. After years (and I truly mean YEARS) of experimenting, here are some of the top skincare solutions that've helped me combat pimples, cysts, and everything in-between.

Hero Rescue Balm
A skin picker's best friend. This little guy was a random amazon find and has done wonders for scabs and sores created by OCD pimple popping impulses.

BeautyCounter CounterControl SOS Cream
As you may or may not know, Cystic acne is the most difficult form to combat on your own due to hormonal imbalances. There aren't many quick fixes once a cystic pimple emerges, but there are preventive measures to reduce their pain and appearance. This small (but mighty) cream is a must-have for anyone trying to 1) reduce inflammation 2) reduce likelihood of cystic acne returning.

Sulfur Ointment
One day, my traditional regiment completely stopped working and I woke up with red, fluid-filled bumps across my chin and cheeks. After weeks of discomfort and embarrassment, I went to the doctor only to find out I'd developed just another skin condition Perioral Dermatitis. After a few topical steroids, almost nothing changed for me. I then decided to research alternative treatment options on my own and stumbled across this ointment. This sulfur treatment was a lifesaver and ultimately replaced 90% of my traditional routine during outbreaks.

CorsRX Acne Pimple Patches
These patches are my favorite things on the planet, not just because they hide my zits from me, but because they actually work if you let them. While these started as a pimple-popping preventative for me, they've turned into a nightly (and sometimes daily) routine to extract oil or whiteheads from my pores. I might purchase an obscene amount, but they're cheap, make me feel better about myself, and protect my zits from outside bacteria.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Sometimes treatments, depending on your skin's tolerance, can dry the heck out of your face till it's cracked and burning. This CHEAP, drugstore purchase does wonders for just that, and protects open scabs with quick healing. I'd recommend this quick-fix for just about anyone and I personally believe it's a necessity to have in your cabinet at all times.

The Ordinary Niacinamide & Zinc Serum
I love The Ordinary for numerous reasons, mostly for its affordability & effectiveness. I've tried many of their products, but this one specifically has been cure-all for me. This universal oil is packed with high strength vitamins and minerals that balance the skin and treat breakouts. When I dab just a little bit of this serum on a pimple, I instantly see results and feel the ingredients kicking in and destroying impurities.
