dallas dining
don't mess with texas. don't mess with dallas, either. dallas might as well be the food capital of the world with how many unbelievable options they have. from tex-mex, to nigiri to italian, dallas has the best of it all. four days wasn't enough to eat my way through it but you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be back for more. our tour guide brought us on what i'm convinced to be some of the best stops and i can't wait for more.
meddlesome moth

HIGHLIGHTS: Specialty Beer and Wine Galore, Instagram Brunch Aesthetics, Clean Ingredients & Filling Menu | 7.5 /10
an aesthetic treat inside & out for all of its diners. you walk into what appears to be a 5-star steakhouse and out into a boho paradise. it made no sense but i still loved it. it was the perfect spot for a quick brunch and a healthy detour from the rest of the meals I'd been eating.
katy trail ice house

HIGHLIGHTS: Walkable from the Trail, A Game Day Must, Stellar Appetizers, Summer Beers | 9.5/10
katry trail ice house was a treat (literally - especially after walking a mile in 80 degree weather), even with an hour and a half wait. the food was above par and the atmosphere was unbeatable. once you get a few summer beers in you and chips and salsa, you'll hardly remember you're still in the line to get inside.
javier's gourmet mexicano

HIGHLIGHTS: Javier, 'Hidden' Cigar Bar, Service at its Best, Traditional Mexican | 8/10
javiers gourmet mexicano was simply incredible. butter on tortilla chips? YES….. it’s obvious how this authentic, culturally-rich restaurant has been a staple in the area for over a decade. 🍽 I felt FULL-y in love.
truck yard

HIGHLIGHTS: Permanent Food Trucks with Crazy Options, Top Notch Ambiance | 8/10
truck yard was adorable and so unique with so many options to choose from. it encompassed the outdoor bar vibe of dallas so well and you can easily tell its a routine for many of visitors. the perfect spot to grab a beer and a quick bite with pals.
cane rosso

HIGHLIGHTS: Pizza Pizza Pizza, Friendly Service, Perfect Date Night Seating | 8/10
cane rosso was delicious in all of the best ways. we all left with clean plates and happy tummies. unlike the traditional spicy pasta alla vodka, cane rosso's was so hearty - almost a lasagna feel - and really felt like home. the hot honey addition to my pizza was great and don't sleep on the white sauce - seriously delicious.
uchi

HIGHLIGHTS: Special Occasion Dining, Worth The Dollar, Listen to your Server | 10/10
will have a hard time getting over this meal, the aesthetics, and most importantly, the service. if you can - please sit outside. It makes all the difference in the world. Also, like most reviewers say - do yourself a favor and don't count on my word, Juan's, or Lauren's. This dining experience is all YOU - and the best thing you can do is take the recommendations from your waitress or waiter.
while we didn't go by the chefs plate, we did ask for any and all input and thoroughly ordered with all of it in mind with ZERO regrets. These photos and words simply can’t do this meal justice. The only thing I can tell you to do is get out there and go try it for yourself 🍣🍣🍣🍱🍱
standard service

HIGHLIGHTS: Specialty Cocktails, Healthy Ingredients, Friendly Service | 9.5/10
thanks to standard service for literally the best spicy marg I’ve ever had - cannot and will not be able to get over it. I think it had some avocado addition? If someone remembers, can you tell me? filling bites and perfect for a friendly afternoon with friends or family. a cup of tomato soup & half a grilled cheese was all I needed to sustain me though the day. one of my favorite stops of the trip.
la parada

HIGHLIGHTS: A Quick Bite in the Park, Easy Eating Options, Budget-Friendly | 6/10
do yourself a favor and make the trip to klyde warren park for a quick stroll, bite, and game. la parada is one of the only/main restaurants on the grounds (besides a dozen food trucks) and felt like the perfect spot to grab a quick bite & beer. it had the perfect views, lively ambiance, and radiating happiness we needed and made us love dallas all the more.
